Captain Abby spent 25+ years as a Baywatch Rescue Boat captain- LAcoFD and crew. During that time teaching close to 400+ professional boat operators. Captain Abby started teaching boating at 18 yrs old for the 1984 Olympic Sailing Racing Program. Soon after became an ocean lifeguard for several years until he served in the United States Navy as an officer and Naval Aviator. Upon his return to ocean rescue he became a Baywatch rescue boat crew member and paramedic. Staying with the department as a rescue boat captain and instructor. He carries several certificates including a 100 ton Coast Guard Master License with sailing endorsement. After retirement from LAco Fire Department as a Baywatch Captain and Paramedic, he began teaching exclusively to private boaters and to those that want to sharpen their skills. Captain Abby races in the 37′ Catalina Sailboat fleet at the Long Beach Yacht Club and is a sail cruiser aboard a 42′ Lagoon catamaran.
